The Burrow Index Stool is a flat packed flexible seating and side table solution made entirely from solid ash wood. It can act as an extra seat, side table, plant pedestal, night stand, and footstool to help when reaching for things on the top shelf.
For this design to be successful, it needed to be affordable for customers that wish to purchase multiple stools. This was done by limiting the product’s complexity and utilizing a clever flat pack design. Only one proprietary bumper screw is needed to fix a leg to the bottom of the seat panel, thanks to the two location pins on each leg. This minimizes the amount of hardware needed, while also retaining the simplicity of the overall design. These bumper screws also act as a dampener when they are stacked for storage.
I was in charge of designing the entire Index collection and creating technical drawings to be sent to Burrow’s manufacturing partners.
